And far from biblical. And a waste of time and energy.
40 days of self-denial are not nearly as productive as actually hanging out with Jesus.
God has no interest in your minimal “sacrifice”, as if 40 days without M&M’s or Twitter can even be considered that. He desires your friendship.

i was raised catholic so i always celebrated lent. i thought giving up something you love, even silly stuff like snacks or coffee, was a helpful reminder to focus more on what is really important- God and his grace.
